We understand that plans change. This policy explains how cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds are handled.
You may cancel or reschedule an appointment at no charge if you notify us at least 4 hours before the scheduled appointment time. Cancellations made with less than 4 hours' notice, or "no-shows" where the notary/signing agent arrives and the signer is not ready or present, may be subject to a cancellation fee equal to the applicable travel fee, to cover the cost of dispatch.
Same-day and emergency appointments booked with short notice are confirmed individually. Given the urgency involved, cancellation terms for these appointments will be communicated at the time of booking.
Because notarization and signing services are performed in person and cannot be "returned," fees for services that have been fully and correctly performed are generally non-refundable. If you believe a service was performed incorrectly or not as described, please contact us within 5 business days so we can review and address the issue.
Travel fees compensate for time and mileage regardless of whether the underlying document(s) are ultimately signed, provided our notary/signing agent traveled to the agreed location as scheduled.
For loan signings scheduled through a title company, lender, or escrow office, cancellation and rescheduling terms may also be subject to the requirements of that third party in addition to this policy.
If you have a question about a charge or invoice in your client account, please contact us at info@capitaltrustnotary.com before initiating a payment dispute, so we can work with you directly to resolve it.
To cancel or reschedule, call us at (423) 555-0123, email info@capitaltrustnotary.com, or manage your appointment through your client account where available.
